Why "Hello Lurch"?

The name Hello Lurch carries deep meaning. The phrase “in the lurch” is often used to describe being abandoned or left in a difficult situation—something many survivors of abuse can relate to. When we were with our abusers, we were thrown into uncertainty, left to navigate pain, fear, and self-doubt on our own.

But this store isn’t about staying in that place. It’s about reclaiming our power.

"Hello Lurch" is a way of acknowledging what we’ve been through—without letting it define us. It’s about taking back control, standing strong, and embracing healing on our own terms. It’s a declaration that we see our past, we honor our journey, and we choose to move forward with strength, resilience, and peace.
